Emily Eng
Canadian born violist and baroque violinist Emily Eng received her musical training at the Interlochen Arts Academy, the Juilliard School, the Glenn Gould School at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, and attended the Amsterdam Conservatorium with the generous support of a Canada Council for the Arts grant. Her principle teachers include David Holland, Steven Dann, Jeanne Lamon, Marjolein Dispa, and Lucy van Dael. While studying in Europe Ms. Eng frequently joined chamber ensembles in Holland, France, Switzerland and England, and played with Le Jeune Orchestre Atlantique in Saintes, and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment in London.

Aside from gallivanting around Europe with instruments always in hand, her most rich and influential period of musical development was spent in three consecutive Long-term Career Development Residencies in a hut at the Banff Centre in the Canadian Rockies.

Presently living in Toronto, Ms. Eng teaches privately and enjoys playing with local baroque bands: Tafelmusik Orchestra, IFuriosi Baroque Ensemble, and the Windermere String Quartet. She is delighted to join the Academy Concert Series this season.
