Paule Préfontaine has lived in the Ottawa region since 2001 and has been active in the chamber music scene. She plays regularly with the National Arts Centre Orchestra, is principal second of 13 Strings ensemble.
She has enjoyed a versatile career as recitalist, soloist, orchestra player, chamber musician, and has performed throughout Canada, Norway, Swenden, Austria, Germany, Ireland and Findland, and in broadcasts on CBC Radio and the Norwegian Radio Kringkasting.
As a menber of the renowned Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, she has toured Europe, Canada and the USA.
In her orchestral career, she has been concertmaster of Niagara Symphony Orchestra, MusikBarok Ensemble of Winnipeg, Orchestre de Chambre de Hull. In addition, she was assistant concertmaster of the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra from 1988 to 1993.
Paule has been a member of Quatuor Lumière since 2002.
